I was right about the cigarette machine; it CAN be made to distribute something much cooler. I present the Art-o-Mat series, found via WeddingbeePro:
Fantastic. Every single one.
Pam from RetroRenovation did a nice piece on some similar red patio chairs, which are apparently called “Motel Chairs” (now you know!) She’s got links to a ton of repro styles and the reader comments are full of good suggestions, too – I thought the one about protecting the bolts so they don’t rust out was really smart. It’s nice to know if I miss out on the craigslist deal (which at this point, they’re still available!) then there are other choices.
Speaking of patio furniture, there is now an interesting set up on Craigslist:
The set is a little pricey at $300, but it’s a steal compared to similar repro peices I found in the latest Metropolitan Home:
Even on clearance those Anthropologie (::spit::) chairs are $150 each!
A few other craigslist items that have popped up since the last post:
“In the style” of Herman Miller. Close enough for me, though.
This is my favorite kind of vintage sink. If they made them super deep (which I don’t think they did) i would have it in the kitchen immediately. As it is though, i’ve been pressuring Jim into the idea of a laundry room sink – and this would be outstanding in that capacity.
I have been acquiring a lot of records lately…this stand would comfortably accomodate them and the USB turntable.
This dining set isn’t exactly my style, but it sure is fun and looks like it’s in nice condition.

The sink reminds me of Paul McCartney’s. Well, his parents’. On 20 Forthlin Road, in Allerton. Good luck finding pictures of that online – those National Trust sites are well-protected.
